Welcome!

General William J. Palmer High School is a modest-sized secondary school located in downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado. The school has a student body of approximately 1800, and attracts enrollment from all over the city. The flagship high school of School District 11, Palmer has the oldest International Baccalaureate (IB) program in the area, founded in 1993. Palmer is located at 301 North Nevada Avenue in Colorado Springs. The present building was built by the Works Progress Administration under Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1940. Originally named Colorado Springs High School, Palmer High School was re-named in 1959 after the city's founder, General William Jackson Palmer.

Masque and Sandal’s fall production

Masque and Sandal presents The Importance of Being Earnest starting November 19th. Shows are Thursday, November 19th and Friday, November 20th at 7pm and Saturday November 21st at 2pm and 7pm. Tickets are only $5.50 for students and $7.00 for adults.

Numen Magazine Seeking Submissions

Numen Creative Arts Magazine: Numen, Greek for creative energy or genius, seeks to publish creative arts submissions from Palmer students and staff. Submit your poetry, short stories, essays, drawings, and photos to be published and shared with the Palmer community. To submit your work, click here.

Finals for first semester are set for December 16-18. Breakfast will be served at 7:00 AM each morning. There are no ELP days. Buses will depart on the 17th and 18th at 12:15 and on the 16ith at regular times. Access a printable version here.

Palmer High School Classroom Experience Survey Report

During the months of December 2008 and May of 2009 each student in each class at Palmer High School took a survey to determine their perceptions of their classroom experience. Questions were included to focus on student engagement, interpersonal relationships, subject rigor and relevance. The overall results of the survey were very positive. Subject Grade Level 21st Century Learning
Art 9th-12th A key component of 21st Century Learning is a guaranteed and viable curriculum that is accessible by students, parents, teachers administrators and support staff 24/7. In May, 2007 we began transferring our curriculum documents and resources to an online format. As you look through the course content for various grade levels, you will find electronic resources, digitized instructional videos, review games, and other supports for the variety of student interests and skill levels we find in our classrooms today. Parents will find helpful hints and strategies to support and extend learning opportunities at home.
